The Colonial Revels

When not busily establishing a New World (which wasn’t really new, but why go into that?), dumping tea into Boston harbor, writing historic documents (where all their “s’s” looked like “f’s”),  or holding a few truths to be self-evident, America’s early settlers occasionally found time to relax a little and let things go.  The Doorway Singers recreate those times in costumes and with a few tunes appropriate to the era.  Enjoy a lighthearted romp with Born About 10,000 Years Ago, Ye Gods! (Ye Gave To Me a Wife), Have You Seen the Ghost of John?, The Shape of Things to Come, Oh No, John and Three Jolly Coachmen, as well as the more lyrical The Water is Wide and, of course, Yankee Doodle.  Add some rollicking instrumental reels and, while won’t make you want to advocate the overthrow of the British Empire by force and violence, it will give you a fun look at the America of our forebears.
